Farmers, Agriculture and Palestinian Resistance

Please join us at the AICafe on Tuesday 30 November at 8.00 p.m. for a discussion about Farmers, Agriculture and Palestinian Resistance with Sayel of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), Hebron District.

UAWC was established in 1986 in response to the vulnerable socio-political circumstance of farmers that resulted from occupation policies in confiscating lands and water in the early eighties and therefore directly harmed the interests of farmers and Palestinians. UAWC acts to improve the living conditions of the Palestinian agricultural society, within a comprehensive framework of sustainable rural development in a manner that would enhance self-reliance and activate the role of local agricultural committees and the concept of voluntary and team work.
Sayel will discuss the current situation of Palestinian agricultural society and the role of farmers and farming in resisting the Israeli occupation.
We hope you will join us!
